Counselling and Psychotherapy

Counsellors and psychotherapists work in a variety of different ways. I'm trained in the person-centred approach to therapy and that means I aim to offer you a space where you are:

-
truly listened to and not judged on what you say
-
met with warmth, empathy and compassion
-
offered a genuine human connection
-
supported while we explore what's been going on
-
valued for your individuality

I can offer both short- or long-term therapeutic support and during our sessions together, we can explore whatever issues you'd like to bring to therapy at your pace. In other words, I won't rush you or push you to talk about anything you don't want to.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I have an enhanced DBS check and I hold full professional insurance.

First Meeting
(30-45 minutes)
Our first meeting would give us an opportunity to talk a bit about what's been happening and what has led you to reach out for support. I'd also ask for a few details about you and your history.
Hopefully the meeting would give you a feel for how I work and whether my approach is what you are looking for.

Full Session
(around 50 minutes)
If we choose to carry on working together after our first meeting, you can book in for a full counselling and psychotherapy session. What we talk about and explore in therapy is guided by you. Many people choose to book in sessions either weekly or fortnightly but we can discuss this as we go.
Please note: Fees are payable in advance of each session and I currently accept payment via bank transfer only.
